GasyWay: Connecting Tourists with Local Communities
Published on September 15, 2025
As part of our partnership with the Nexta incubator in Madagascar, we support innovative startups across the island by providing 12 months of web and email hosting, along with our technical and digital expertise. Among them, GasyWaystands out for its ambition to reinvent tourism in Madagascar through a community-based, sustainable approach that respects local cultures.
A Platform for Community-Based and Sustainable Tourism in Madagascar
In a tourism sector often dominated by standardized offers and disconnected from authentic Malagasy culture, GasyWay provides a web and mobile platform that directly connects travelers with local providers and experiences: accommodation, dining, activities, tours, as well as cultural events and eco-friendly initiatives.
The ambition is clear: to offer tourists immersive and authentic experiences while enabling local communities to generate sustainable economic value from their skills and traditions.
A Vision for Sustainable Tourism
The project is led by a team from Diego-Suarez—Damosoa Sandrine (management and international business), Rakotozafy Tsilavina Alfred (IT and design lead), and Rasoanaivo Océane (UX/UI designer and brand strategy). Their goal is to become the benchmark for sustainable tourism in Madagascar.
Over the next five years, GasyWay aims not only to expand its impact nationwide but also to actively contribute to preserving cultural heritage and promoting low-impact tourism practices.
This project is currently ongoing—we’ll keep you updated here in the coming weeks…
