Webcup, promoting digital inclusion in Réunion
Published on May 21, 2025
The WebCup association, based in Réunion, works to promote digital inclusion in the Indian Ocean by organising events such as the WebCup, coding workshops and free training courses. It targets a wide audience: young people, women and older people with the aim of making digital skills more widely accessible and encouraging innovation.
In addition to its flagship events such as the Webcup and Startup Weekends, the association runs several inclusive programmes: Osez-Coder to introduce women to coding, Silver Élite to support older people in the digital world, and Web Élite to train young people. It also runs the Webcup Campus, a space dedicated to learning, innovation and collaboration amongst digital enthusiasts. Its work forms part of an initiative to reduce inequalities in access to technology across the Indian Ocean region.
