Alomed Simplifies Access to Medications for People with Chronic Conditions
Published on April 8, 2026
As part of our partnership with the Nexta incubator in Madagascar, we support innovative startups from the island by offering 12 months of web and email hosting, along with our technical and digital expertise. Among these young ventures, Alomed stands out for its ambition to improve the lives of chronic patients by simplifying access to essential medications.
Alomed: A Platform Serving Patients
In Madagascar, chronic patients often face significant challenges: limited availability of treatments in pharmacies, lack of information on where to buy them, and missed doses.
Alomed offers a B2C digital solution that connects patients directly with local pharmacies, providing:
- Tracking of chronic medication availability in nearby pharmacies
- A location system to quickly find where to get their treatment
- Smart reminders to avoid missed doses or anticipate refills
- An optional home delivery service if needed
A Project Rooted in Public Health
Founded by Razakatiana Rondro Fy Michèle Miharimanana, a medical intern, Alomed is built on a deep understanding of public health challenges in Madagascar. The team also combines marketing and logistics expertise to ensure effective deployment.
With a business model based on pharmacy subscriptions and additional services (advertising, delivery, etc.), Alomed aims both to simplify patients’ lives and provide pharmacies with a tool for stock management and customer relations.
A Vision for National Growth
After a pilot phase in a major city, Alomed plans to gradually expand across the country, from regional capitals to rural areas. Partnerships with doctors, NGOs, and health institutions will strengthen its impact, with a clear goal: ensuring chronic patients have regular, simple, and reliable access to their treatments.
This project is ongoing, and we’ll keep you updated here in the coming weeks…
